Here at Des Brown Service Centre, we take great pride in the honest advice and exceptional service that we offer to our valued customers in Ringwood, Ringwood East, Ringwood North, Heathmont, Nunawading, Mitcham and the surrounding area. We have a wide range of customers who have lived in the area for years, and we even have some who have moved away but still come back to us for car servicing and reliable advice.

The high quality of service, delivered in a timely manner, that we are able to provide for our customers, comes from our 110 years of combined experience in automotive repairs and our dedication to open, honest communication with our customers. We will always explain the work that needs to be done, and seek approval before we move forward with any repairs.

We are happy to have won the Customer Service and Mystery Shopper Award multiple times, but we believe the real measure of our success is that we’ve had some customers for over 40 years, and people that used to come into our service station riding in baby car seats are now bringing us their vehicles for servicing!

OUR HISTORY

Des Brown Service Centre was opened in 1973 by Des Brown.

Des originally began his work life in a bank, but also picked up a part-time job in a service station. Des’ interest in service stations increased when he met his future father-in-law. After completing his service station training course, Des turned down many offers to run various service stations before accepting an offer from Caltex. This is the same service station we operate today.

Over the 44 years that Des has worked at this service station, he also ran six other Mobil stations and car washes for over a decade, and routinely helped establish service stations for Mobil, guiding the businesses through the most difficult and tumultuous part of their lifespan, before handing the established stations over to Mobil. Eventually, Des decided to focus all of his energies on Des Brown Service Centre, to ensure that he could provide the best quality of service to his valued customers.

Des is still heavily involved with Des Brown Service Centre, but nowadays, the day-to-day running of the business is handled by his son, Travis.

Travis has been working here since the age of 17, and has 23 years of experience in all the aspects of Des Brown Service Centre, from mopping the floor to running the service station and the workshop. This deep and thorough understanding of the business allows him to continue his father’s tradition of peerless customer service.
